Zaza, or za, is slang for exotic weed: top shelf flower with rare or new genetics, visible trichome frost and a loud terpene smell. It is a tier, not a strain.

Where did the word zaza come from?

It came out of Atlanta rap around 2019 and 2020 as a doubled up shortening of "exotic", then spread through songs, memes and dispensary menus.

Flower from rare or newly bred genetics, usually indoor grown in small batches, with heavy trichome coverage and strong, specific terpenes. Today most of it is a Runtz, Gelato or Zkittlez family cross.

How can you tell if weed is really exotic?

Look for frost you can see without a loupe, a loud and specific smell when the bag opens, dense sticky structure, and a lab test with a terpene panel. A name and a high THC number alone do not make it exotic.

Does Supers sell zaza?

Supers is value flower, not the exotic shelf: lab tested California flower from well known families like GG4, OZ Kush and Wedding Cake, sold in color coded eighths, quarters and ounces at Wellgreens, Jungle Boys San Diego and MedLeaf Delivery.
